Va Quarter Cutting
The second venture for Pushkar-Gayathri duo after their first hit "ORAM PO". . Shiva(SUNDARAJAN..shortly SURA) masking on his success as hero in TAMIL PADAM tries his hand being a coimbatore lad, a vijay fan who is on his way to saudi arabia. . he finds out that drinks are a restriction in saudi. . so his last wish before boarding is to have a QUARTER CUTTING. . and his search for Quarter forms the rest of the plot. .
SPB charan(MARTHANDAM) is sura's sister's lover and helps sura in his one night dream . .and the third character is saro (Lekha) who is a suicide attempt case for 12th failure. . and the plot moves further. .
The other characters who fix themselves are Kalyan master , john vijay and abhinayshree. . The story hasn got much to offer. . The plot moves along line the characters with ultra old dialogues (mokkais) and without any pace in it. . The twists and tales are predictable and positioned at wrong places. . The language accent of John vijay adds as an plus point at places. .
but one thing that stands out is NIRAV SHAH's cinematography and G.V.PRAKASH's music. . "THEDIYE" and "QUARTER" songs are sure to break into chartbuster's list and high praises to nirav for bringing the entire chennai's nght life with spectacular camera work. . The director tried out comedy in oram po which worked out well. . but he didn get second time lucky. .
May be subtle mokkais arent the only way to make people laugh. . .RATED 1/5

Are you a movie buff???
Kamal Hassan, Madhavan and Trisha starrer Manmadhan Ambu has been in the news ever since the shooting for the movie started. The audio release function of Manmadhan Ambu is going to be held in Singapore. Though the venue of the movie is not confirmed, the function is supposed to be held on November 20, 2010. The highlight of the movie is that Kamal Hassan has penned lyrics for a song. Reports claim that Kamal Hassan met CM Karunanidhi to get a feedback about the song he has written.
MANKATHA RELEASE-
Venkat Prabhu is busy these days directing Mankatha, the 50th film of Ajith. The movie is expected to be released on Ajith’s birthday, May 1st next year.
The film has Ajith and Trisha as the lead pair and Nagarjuna, Premji Amaren and others in important roles.
There are reports that the chemistry between Ajith and Trisha is just amazing and the fans are going to love seeing them on screen when Mankatha releases.
Dayanidhi Alagiri is producing this film, which has Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring the music.
SIRUTHAI FOR KARTHI, VENGAI FOR DHANUSH
What with the Hari-directed Singam proving to be a runaway success, naming movies after predators seem to have become a fad among our directors. A similarly titled Siruthai is under production with Karthi and Tamannah in the lead, directed by Siva.
Likewise, Hari’s next film is also tentatively titled Vengai. Dhanush seems to have nodded his consent for Vengai. His Uthama Puthiran is ready for release and he has completed his portions for Aadukalam as well. Talks are reportedly on with Tamannah to play Dhanush’s lead in the movie.

RAAVANAN-- Experience the WILD
--- RAAVANAN(tamil).. an aquatic venture from mani sir... first thing first.. Santosh Sivan- he is the person to be lauded for.... sure shot award winner for his extreme effort on cinematography.. next for the crew who got the locations.. the forests of Karnataka (Tumkur), the Athirappilly Falls from kerala , the Malshej Ghats in Maharashtra… and goes on... jus dumbstruck with the rain filled camera work..
later follows the maestro A.R.RAHMAN’s work… the music dances with the need of the movie… seriously no words to explain his BGM… leave about the songs… the background scores were chanceless… and the songs were fast numbers.. neatly visualized.. out of which usurey poguthey stands out(my best was koadu poatta … felt like dancing crazy)…
alas coming to the director and the crew… (from reverse).. prabhu, ranjitha, john vijay, priyamani.. all played their part well... now for the re-entries… karthik was funny enough to do crazy stunts(replica to LORD HANUMAN).. and prithviraj as DEV makes his comeback to kollywood fiercefully… he looks like the man to do this role…
and comingto VEERA(VIKRAM)… no wonder why he got the national award for pithamagan… mani sir knows how to use him effectively… and vikram outclasses mani sir’s expectations in every scene… and the ultimate is the role of RAGINI…one of top class performance given by AISHWARYA till date…
only drawback is the loosely held script and the slower pace in the later parts of the frst half… u cant call it a negative though… awesome treat for a fan of any department in the film industry.. must watch … RAAVANAN- a visual treat … am longing to give 4.5/5… but something inside says ABHISHEK-VIKRAM duo would have given a more classy performance than VIKRAM-PRITHVI… rated 4/5…
MADRASAPATTINAM-- a trip to old madras province
MADRASAPATTINAM--- a non-romantic love story after a really really long time… VIJAY, the director of KIREEDOM and POI SOLLA POROAM comes up with a period venture…. A film visualized during the pre-independence period… days before 15th august 1947… Amy comes to Chennai(MADRAS) in search of a guy named parithi(ARYA).. and the Deja-Vu takes her to the past , the madrasapattinam during the britishers period…. this is where the tale begins .. the love between the governor’s daughter and the dhobi… followed by the vengeance of britishers , not on freedom fighters ..but on parithi.. what happens next is beautifully shown by VIJAY…
First of all a big hug to vijay sir ..for not only bringing tamil cinema to the world domain … but also for bringing AMY JACKSON to tamil industry.. she is sure to topple off other so called gorgeous ladies of kollywood … coming back to the crew.... Showering accolades alone cant explain what Nirav shah’s cinematography has done to the movie… one of his best… not to forget anthony’s editing…
and again the undoubted winner is G.V.Prakash’s music… "Vaama Duraiyamma" is neatly composed and picturised with the 1947 madras backdrop but "Pookal Pookum" stands out and is surely gonna top the list for many a months coming up..
As a whole… one of the best edge of the seat anticipated climax even though you would have known what is going to happen…. Rated 4/5..
