FRIDAY REVIEW - MIRUTHAN

FRIDAY REVIEW: MIRUTHAN - Tamil Cinema's first ZOMBIE movie from the director of "NAAIGAL JAAKIRATHAI",Shakthi Sounder Rajan.

CAST & PLOT:
Starring Jeyam Ravi, Lakshmi Menon , Baby Anikha and Kaali Venkat in main roles, MIRUTHAN is a straight delivery from the many ZOMBIE movies that you could recollect. But forgetting Hollywood , be it the audience who are to yet to have the zombie experience or movie buffs like me who have always loved to watch Kollywood faces in these type of movies, MIRUTHAN is an exciting experience.

PLUS: Kudos first to director for the subject chosen. Ravi shines through the role , a tailor made script for him. From Peraanmai days, his weapon handling skills are good to watch. Kaali Venkat keeps the humour moving till climax with his timing liners. Lakshmi Menon shares the love track as the doctor and baby anikha shares the sister track. HORRIFYING ZOMBIES theme is still running through my mind: A classy BGM by Imman. Couldn believe Imman could bring in such class BGM. On similar lines is MUNNAL KAADHALI which will be on repeat mode for some days is good on screen and ears. Applause to the VFX team for a good work done. Definite mention is the INTERVAL frame shot where the entire audience broke to claps.

Though many reviews state that the love and sister sentiment tracks are unnecessary in a zombie plot. But i definitely feel it as the difference or the special element which is always delight to watch.

MINUS: After the high paced half, the second half drops a bit but not complain-able.  And it was becoming an over dosage of ONE MAN SHOW of Ravi towards the climax.

VERDICT: A bold attempt.

RATED: 3/5
